Robert Thornton went into the final against Martin Adams as a very strong favourite and he turned out to be a worthy favourite too landing the first World Seniors Darts Championship with a 5-1 win and his fourth from five games where he averaged over 90, in fact, Robert Thornton finished the tournament with 4 of the top 6 averages cementing his place as a worthy champion.
